Founder, Julie Charvet Robinne lives between France and Spain. She has a natural flair for surrounding herself with beautiful and colourful things. L’Envers for her goes beyond her own professional and personal goals but to draft a story with a human touch, combining the desire of doing the right thing and doing things right.
All the pieces are knitted in small family workshops in Spain, where the designer lives. The proximity of suppliers and the traceability of all the components make it possible for L'Envers to limit their ecological footprint.
Combined with the desire to produce clothes more sustainably by addressing the impact and injustice of today's fast fashion. Continuously supporting local clothing manufactures and helping rebuild the textile industry.
L’Envers means the reverse in French. The brand was created and named with this concept in mind; turn your clothes inside out to know where they have been made and which raw material used to make it.
L'Envers work exclusively with raw materials that respect the environment and health.
In view of L'Envers ethics and values , the choice of their raw materials naturally focused on wool and organic cotton. Natural resources, biodegradable, renewable, these are materials of choice, especially in terms of sustainable development.
Privileging a natural and non-synthetic material allows L'Envers clothes to have a lower environmental impact.
All materials are carefully selected from their spinning mills in France and Spain, which allows them to know the manufacturing conditions of their yarns and to guarantee quality materials, respectful of man and the environment.
Comfortable and soft, cotton is one of the most used materials in the textile industry. A natural, hypoallergenic material that respects the skin and lets it breathe.
Conventional cotton cultivation uses 25% of the pesticides used worldwide. Out of respect for the environment, all L'Envers cotton pieces are made of 100% natural organic cotton, un-tinted. Cotton is grown without pesticides and is not genetically modified. Its cultivation does not require irrigation, only rainwater is recovered and used. Its impact on the soil and water consumption is greatly reduced.
Contrary to popular belief, white is not the original colour of cotton. More than a thousand years ago, cotton was grown in different natural colours such as ecru, brown or green. L'Envers use a natural, un-dyed cotton that is pure and biodegradable. Certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), an organisation that certifies a natural, organic fibre, produced with the utmost ecological, sustainable and social respect.
