Perludi - Graz, Austria
Perludi create high quality, safe and stable child-centre designed furniture using only organic and recyclable materials. At Perludi, they contribute to a world of appreciation and living in harmony with nature.
The name Perludi which comes from Latin (per ludum) means 'for playing', is the result of a creative collaboration of the founding team.
In the summer of 2007 a group of parents and their children spent a weekend on an old farm in the Austrian Alps near Graz. Their goal was to have a comfortable stay amongst nature and bring together their ideas on sustainability. Thomas Maitz initiated this meeting, consisting of architects, designers, businesspeople and psychologist. The group discussed their ideas about sustainability and a quality of life for their children, this was the beginning of a vision and a distinct concept emerged for a new kids furniture brand, called Perludi.
Thomas Maitz, designer, creative director and founder of Perludi had previously trained as a carpenter and interior design engineer. Thomas and his wife Natalie have three children, who inspire new product ideas and innovations.
Perludi contribute to a world of joy, appreciation and living in harmony with nature. An extraordinary, child-centred design that supports sustainable practise as well as outstanding quality and security are common to Perludi products.
Perludi place children and their families at the core of its work by designing high-quality products enabling children to experience the space they live in and to participate in its design.
Play is the basis of child development. Perludi products stimulate the children's sense of discovery. Creative play and autonomous discovery support child development, promote their independence and strengthen their self-esteem.
Perludi put great efforts into the safety of your child. Their products are therefore safe, stable and environmentally friendly.
The children's sense of discovery is something Perludi like to learn from. They evolve with children - new products, materials, production methods and innovation are continually reviewed.
Perludi only use materials that are acquired from nature and can be returned to it. All materials are organic and recyclable.
